Fissure sealants where necessary.

13 – 21 years

Normally high decay incidence so regular teeth cleaning and fluoride application is necessary.
Ongoing at risk assessment particularly those undergoing orthodontics.
Continuing dietary advice focusing on soft drinks and snacking.
Custom built mouthguards.
X-rays evaluation for decay and wisdom teeth.

 

21 – 40 years

Regular teeth cleaning and fluoride applications.
Long term dental health planning.
X-ray evaluation for decay and wisdom teeth.
Dental care during pregnancy.
Continued dietary advice.
Saliva assessment and testing.
Screening bacterial levels for decay.
Soft tissue evaluation for pathology.

 

40 – 70 years

Regular teeth cleaning and fluoride applications.
Ongoing assessment of saliva.

Discussion regarding medical treatment and influence on dental disease.
Continued dietary advice.

 

70 years and over

Assessment of need for more frequent dental visits.
Dietary advice and saliva assessment.
Advice regarding medical conditions and impact on dental health.
